WILL OF CHRISTIAN REPPERT

Transcript of Will of my GG Grandfather, 18-Christian Reppert, executed 11-12-1849.

I Christian Reppert of Dunkard Township County of Greene and State of Pennsylvania, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made;  and first I direct that my Funeral and just debts be paid by my Executors (hereinafter named) as soon as possible. –

And further I direct that  my beloved Wife Catherine , shall, during her natural life, have the use of my Farm on which I now reside, with the appurtenances thereunto belonging & also I direct that the whole of my household and kitchen furniture, together with all wheat, salt meat or Bacon and other provisions that may be on hand at my death shall be and remain the absolute property of my beloved wife. - I also give to her absolutely two of my best milch cows. 

And I also direct my Executors to pay over to my said wife, annually during her natural life the Intrest of Fifteen hundred dollars, and it is my will further that if I shall not during my life time draw the amount of two notes I hold against L. G. Vanvoorhis - one calling for three hundred and ninety three dollars and forty seven cents dated April 1, 1839 and one for three hundred and fifty dollars, dated April 1, 1839, there and in that case it is my will that my Executors shall pay over the same to my Wife, provided she may need or have use of the same for the support and education of my Grand Children by my daughter Margaret Harrison.
    
I also direct that upon the death of my wife my Executors shall select five competent and judicious persons to value or appraise my home Farm and that my son Benjamih F. Reppert shall have the Refusal of the same at such evaluation.  But in case he does not take or accept the same at such valuation then I direct that my Executors (after giving proper notice of same) shall sell the same at public sale, upon reasonable credit.
    
And further it is my will that my son Alfred C. Reppert shall have the refusal of my Intrest in an undivided Tract of land adjoining my home farm, Devised to the Heirs Henny Stephens - at the price of Seven hundred and fifty dollars ($750); and in case he shall take the same I direct that he shall give to my Executors his note for one hundred and fifty dollars ($150) payable at the death of my wife; said note to draw Intrest.  But if the said A. C. Reppert shall not take the same at that price, then I direct my Executors to sell the same upon the death of my wife. 

And it is further my will that money arising from the sale of my land aforesaid, shall be disposed as follows;
    
First. - I direct my Executors to pay to my son Benjamin F. Reppert the sum of Seven hundred dollars ($700) he having Received from me in my life time the sum of five hundred dollars, and I direct my Executors to hand over to said B. F. Reppert any and all notes or Receipts I may hold against him for the said advancement.
    
2nd. - In case my son Alfred C. Reppert does not take the Intrest in the "Stephen land" then and in that case I direct my Executors to pay said A. C. Reppert the sum of six hundred dollars ($600) and to hand over to him any Receipt or note I may hold against him for an advancement of Four hundred dollars made him in my life time.
    
3rd. - I direct to be paid to my son Solomon Reppert the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) and to hand over to him any note or Receipt I may hold against him for an advancement made him by me in my life time.
     
4th. - I direct my Executors to pay to each of my daughters - to wit, Maria Reppert, Minerva Shelby and Louisa Watson the sum of five hundred dollars and that my Executors shall hand over to them any Receipt or note I may hold against either of them for an advancement of five hundred dollars made to them respectively during my life time.
    
5th. - I direct my Executors to pay over to my son George Reppert annually the Intrest of three hundred dollars during his natural life, said Bequest or annuity to commence from and after the death of my wife.
   
 6th. - I further direct that my Executors shall hand over to Christian Reppert, George Reppert and Lewis Reppert any Receipts or Notes I may hold against them or either of them for an advancement of one thouaand dollars made to each of them during my life time, also to hand over all receipts, notes, Accts., etc. to the children of Joseph F. Harrison for money paid to their Father by me in my life time. 

And it is further my will that all money remaining in the hands of my Executors after paying the above Eight bequests, annuities, etc. shall be devided equally - Share and Share alike - among my following children or their Heirs, as follows to wit. - My son Christian Reppert.  The children of my daughter Margaret Harrison.  Maria Reppert.  Menerva Shelby.  Solomon Reppert.  Louiza Watson.  Lewis Reppert.  A. C. Reppert and Benjamin Reppert and I do hereby make and ordain Christian Reppert. L.G. Vanvoorhis and my wife Catharine, Executors of this my last Will and Testament.
    
In Witness whereof I Christian Reppert the Testator, have to this my last Will written on one sheet of Paper set my hand and seal this Twelfth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty nine.
